PowerFlex drive is a type of the VFD (variable frequency drive) used to control speed and torque of a 3-phase motor. There are many types and models of PowerFlex drives available. Rockwell Automation PowerFlex drives bring many advantages that help with the automation processes and productivity.
- Using Variable Frequency Drives like PowerFlex helps in saving energy.
- Soft Start and Stop. Accel and Decel time reduce stress on the motor (during start and stop)and the load that the motor is driving (gearboxes, shafts, etc.).
- Motor control. With VFD, You control how and when the motor runs. If the VFD is part of the Logix System (PLC) you can program the motor to run only when it’s needed and at the speed that is needed.
As we mentioned above, there are many models of PowerFlex drives from 0.5HP up to thousand of HP. The most common PF drives used are:
- PowerFlex 4 series (4 and 4M)
- PowerFlex 40 series (40 and 40P)
- PowerFlex 70
- PowerFlex 520 series (523, 525 and 527)
- PowerFlex 400
- PowerFlex 750 series
Since Rockwell Automation has confirmed end of support (service and sale) for all drives from family PowerFlex 4 and 40 (including 4M and 40P), the best choice for motors up to 30HP is PowerFlex 523 and/or 525 with voltage range from 100 to 600VAC. For larger motors PowerFlex 70 and 750 series.
We offer new installations, replacement and troubleshooting of PowerFlex drives 4, 40, 70, 400 and 700 series. That includes drive programming, PLC programming if necessary and making any changes if requested.
